About Us
How It Began
In the summer of 1976 my father, Jack Petruzzelli, started a retail carpet store in the City of Orange. At the young age of 18, my role changed shortly thereafter from warehouse manager to owner/operator when my father suddenly passed away at the young age of 52.
My vision was to continue my father’s legacy by bringing together the very best the industry had to offer. Big names, brand names, department store quality at the time. The thing is, I wanted to offer it to my customers at a discount so we could attract more of them to our showroom. The established dealers, who only sold quality product lines, did so at the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). I was looking to change that. Problem was, no “name brand” mill would sell me their product knowing I was going to offer deep discounts. And besides, I was “just a kid”. But ultimately, I proved to be “just a kid who”, as they say, “was well ahead of his time”.
Fast forward, now I’m all grown up (sort of!) and we literally have every product line worth carrying! And boy, talk about deep discounts!
